- SportsI take God beg you, please sir, buy Chelsea now! 10 reasons why Dangote is the best person to buy Chelsea and should be the forerunner above all others 1. He’s a really true football fan. Unlike many other businessmen out there who want to own a club like Chelsea for financial gain and its business stature, (like many American billionaires who own cash cow NFL teams) Dangote is a real true football fan, we know he has been trying to buy Arsenal for a few years. If he buys Chelsea the love of the club (men, women, academy) is assured to continue. 2. Even with a consortium he can control the club. Aliko is current worth 14 billion dollars even currently richer than Roman Abramovich. He can afford to put a deal together and be the majority shareholder if he decides to buy the club with others (don’t forget to invite John Terry, Drogba, President Weah and Mikel Obi to the owner group!). 😉 3. He has the money to make it happen. His net worth is on the upswing. With the eminent completion of his 600K barrel per day refinery about to come on stream in Lagos, that is a game changer, he is set to potentially double his net worth in a very short amount of time. And he can back up any financial muscle needed for the deal. Africa and the developing world is going to need oil for years to come despite the EV revolution. 4. He can take Chelsea to the next level. We need a new stadium, he can broker that deal and with his businesses in 18 African countries and expanding, he can make Chelsea the most popular club on the continent. Remember Africa is the “last frontier” for emerging markets a place where all global businesses are setting up shop. 5. Chelsea makes better business sense than Arsenal. Face it, he might be passionate about the Gunners, but aside from passion, business wise Chelsea is a far better investment. Yes, a new stadium is needed but revenue is assured once that is done with the winning mentality of the club, the possibilities are endless! 6. He is a winner and will be getting a winning club. He is a winner as a businessman and he will be acquiring a winning organization, Men, Women’s and Youth teams, we have a winning mentality at Chelsea. The Gunners might have a storied and winning past, but Chelsea have a storied and winning present and future, AND one of the things that we pride ourselves as true Blue fans is we are pragmatic and we demand our team is a winning team, NOT a whining team. Who wants to own a whining team? 7. Chelsea as an organization is used to a strong owner and will welcome a trough hand. Yes, Roman gained the reputation as a hire a fire ruthless owner, okay, but as we all know in his 18 years of owner ship, despite our plethora of managerial changes, we have WON IT ALL. 15 managers and 21 trophies (more if you add the women’s and youth teams!) Every trophy available under the sun, so one good thing Roman has instilled in Chelsea Players, Managers and Fans is you must win trophies and if you don’t goodbye and good luck! 8. He and Roman probably have more in common on how they gained their wealth. They are both very shewed businessmen whose ties to government assisted in their wealth gain. (not much wrong with that by the way) Luckily for Dangote his rise to wealth is not nearly as contentious as Roman’s so in their business dealings they might find a fair amount of common ground. 9. Make Roman an offer he cannot refuse! A seat on the board of Dangote refinery, or maybe some shares! We all know Roman was once in oil and gas, for heavens sake offer the man some shares in Dangote refinery! An offer he might not be able to refuse! He might even be able to sail one of his yachts and park it off the Lekki coast (at Eko Atlantic) and visit his new investment! 😆 10. Make history in the process. I saved the best for last. Dangote buying and owing all or the majority of Chelsea FC will make history as he will become the first African / Black man to own a major top European club. Talk about breaking new ground and making history! But the way lest I forget we are World Champions… isn’t that enough on its own! 😝 What say you? Vote below!Like
